Marmite. R.I.P.

Marmite

On Saturday morning of 16th August it was a devastating shock to find Marmite lying dead in the field. His death was so unexpected as he was in such good health, inspite of the disfiguring lump on his head that had appeared to have responded well to a course or steroids.
It was found that a major blood vessel had haemorrhaged in his abdomen in the night, so, in a way, it was comforting to know that he had a peaceful, pain-free death and that we could not have foreseen such an event.

Marmite was the last to die of the four horses that I have known since I started in 2006 and just like all the others he will be sorely missed and remembered for years to come. It was all the more of a shock to us all so soon after Maggie's tragic death.

Felix, Marmite, Maggie and Charlie Brown
on a cold November morning in 2006 waiting for their daily ration of hay.

We rember them all with such love and affection.
