End of Carriage Driving Season 2013

On a bright sunny day on Monday we drove our last drives with Maggie for the 2013 season.

Having watched a dismal wet Countryfile forecast for the rest of the week it was decided to call it a day since the shoes are due to come off on Friday and the horses start a very well deserved winter holiday!

Maggie has been working hard, doing extra drives while Marmite has been rested to investigate an onset of lameness in his off hind leg. Initial investigations by Keith, our farrier, revealed nothing in the foot, the most likely cause of lameness 90% of the time. After 3 visits by Mel, our vet, we still haven't got to the bottom of it as his lameness is barely detectable, but we shall pursue further investigations after all shoes are off.

We start our coffee mornings at Dylans Restaurant in the Courtyard Centre in Lytchett Minster every Wednesday until the the new season starts in March on Wed 13th November. We invite anyone connected with, or interested in the East Holton Driving Centre, to join us for a coffee and chat between 11.00 am and 12.00pm.
