Start New Season 2015

Fletcher out for exercise with vounteer, Jo
William on duty drive with John from Dorchester Residential Home

We started the season proper on the week beginning 9th March when Keith, our farrier attended to the horses' feet and shoes. The horses have been getting exercised for about two weeks when the the weather was reasonable, if very cold. They are all very keen and enjoy getting between the shafts for a bit of light work.  The weather looks an improving picture now so, fingers crossed, with full schedules and willing volunteers we can continue to fulfil our role and provide enjoyment for all.

Fletcher has been out regularly, getting used to us and is a dream to drive. Sarah, his owner has done a first rate job of schooling him and I'm very confident, it will be a mere formality to get him approved for use by the RDA when he turns 5 years old on the 1st May. Horses can only be used for RDA work at a minimum age of 5 years.
